Welcome to the online home of the
Rocky Mountain Model Club
Calgary, AB, Canada
Founded in 1993, the Rocky Mountain Model Club (commonly referred to as the RMMC) was a gathering of scale plastic model
builders interested in showing, sharing and learning about the scale modeling hobby. Members build everything including
aircraft, armour, automobile, figures, science-fiction and ships.
In December 2010, the RMMC joined IPMS Canada, becoming the only IPMS Chapter in the Calgary area.

Young or old, expert or novice, the RMMC is about sharing your modeling interests and improving your skills.
In 1994 the RMMC hosted its first scale model contest which was an enormous success; drawing more than 600 entries. Since
then, the RMMC has continued to host their contest, every spring. Typically contestants and visitors can expect to see more
than 400 high quality models from throughout Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and parts of the Northwestern United States.
Locally, members of the RMMC share the hobby with the general public through a variety of community events. The Calgary
Airport Open House is an annual event that the club has been involved with since its formation and members have made
numerous appearances on local Global, Fairchild and Shaw television stations.
Where do we meet?
The RMMC currently meets during the afternoon of the second Saturday of every month at the SAIT Art Smith Aero Centre of
Training and Technology, 1916 McCall Landing NE (in the hangars in the southeast corner of the Calgary International
Airport). The hall doors open at 2:00pm and meetings last for approximately two hours.
How much is a membership?
Membership in the Rocky Mountain Model Club is $20 per year, all of which helps pay for the meeting hall, webpage, contest
and club Christmas party. If you join after the membership month of March, membership prices are lowered, depending on the
amount of the year remaining.
